The Bible Hill Kinsmen recently presented the Slate Youth Centre with a donation of $3,000 as part of the proceeds from the 3rd Annual Colchester Book Fair. The group was our partner this year and helped make the event another huge success.
Pictured, from left to right, are Slate Youth Centre Director Crystal Crossan-Zak, Tanner Altenkirk, Emma Crossan, Peter Altenkirk, and Kinsmen Book Fair Committee Chair Stephen Hamlin.
Also, as our kin year has come to an end, we’ve also made a number of other contributions to other local groups for various initiatives set out by the club:
- Bible Hill Canada Day Committee – $500
- CEC Safe Grad Committee – $1,000
- Challenger Baseball Program – $500
- Hal Rogers Endowment Fund – $500
- MS Supercities Walk – $1,000
- Truro Homeless Outreach Society – $1,000
- Slate Youth Centre – $3,000
- Truro Boys & Girls Club – $1,500
In all, that puts our donations in 2017-18 at $34,980! Again, we thank you, the community, for supporting our events throughout the year and helping to ensure we meet our objective of “Serving the Community’s Greatest Need”.
